Sabrina Thompson is an Aerospace Engineer at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). She performs orbit design studies and develops trajectories for near-Earth, as well as, interplanetary missions. In addition to being a "Rocket-Scientist", she is also an Atmospheric Physicist. Sabrina has received numerous awards and recognition for her work, including a U.S. Patent for a miniaturized astrometric alignment sensor for distributed and non-distributed guidance, navigation, and control systems. She considers herself an “Artsy” engineer.
She is passionate about innovation, space exploration and having a positive impact on society. In addition to delivering passionate, impactful motivational talks, Sabrina uses art to inspire the next generation of girls to be confident in their abilities and know they are more than capable of breaking down barriers they will encounter as they pursue their dreams. In 2018, she founded the STEMulating Art® program to engage youth in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) via art projects. She built an online platform called "GIRL IN SPACE CLUB (GISC) portal" to host virtual STEMulating Art® projects, as well as additional events and offerings that cultivate the minds of tomorrow's world shakers!
Under her artist name, Nefertiti-Pokahontas, she has created a collection of paintings and a book series, called “GIRL IN SPACE”. Soon after, she created the GIRL IN SPACE CLUB fashion brand and NFT collection. More information can be found at www.girlinspaceclub.com
